COMPOSITE is a quarterly networking event dedicated to digital creativity. It was initiated by the Conseil des arts de Montréal and is coordinated by MAPP_MTL in collaboration with key players in Montreal’s digital scene (MUTEK Montréal, Zù Montréal, La Piscine, NFB, Society for Arts and Technology – SAT, HUB Montréal, XN Québec, SYNTHÈSE, Akousma…).
The aim of this event is to create a recurring meeting place between the art world and the digital industry, encouraging sharing and pollination between creators, artist-run centers, organizations, companies and digital professionals.

A dynamic partner of artistic creativity in Montreal, the Conseil des arts de Montréal identifies, supports, and recognizes excellence and innovation in the creation, production, and presentation of professional artistic endeavours. It encourages openness, discovery, and daring at the heart of Montreal’s artistic landscape, thanks to its initiatives. Since 1956, the Conseil des arts de Montréal has been an influential player in the development of “Montreal, Cultural Metropolis.”

Founded in 1996, the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and support of digital culture. SAT is internationally recognized for its active and pioneering role in the development of technologies for immersive creation, telepresence and mixed realities. Its transdisciplinarity and hybrid mission make it a unique organization in Montreal and around the world.

For over 100 years, the Quartier des Spectacles has been Montreal’s premier destination for culture and entertainment. In the 19th century, educational institutions were established there. Later came cabarets, theatres, and Place des Arts. In 1982, the Montreal International Jazz Festival presented its first outdoor concerts in the area, paving the way for major events. Both Montrealers and visitors converge here to enjoy 80 performance venues, 8 public squares, and no fewer than 40 festivals. The Quartier is also home to La Vitrine, a hub for cultural offerings. It shines with an innovative lighting plan that reflects its vibrancy and creative energy. Here, the show is everywhere!
