\nSince 2007, Eastern Bloc has been at the forefront of the dissemination, production and promotion of digital art in Quebec. The center particularly supports creative experimentation in the intersecting fields of art, technology and science as well as all emerging digital practices. Hybridity and new modes of production are important to the centre, as is supporting the emerging art community by enabling creative exchanges between emerging and established artists within local and international dissemination initiatives. Eastern Bloc facilitates public participation, technological democratization and the enhancement of urban space within public intervention projects. While supporting innovation through emerging artistic and technological practices, the organization strives to defend a critical point of view about all these developments.<\/span><\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

\nFounded in 2004, the NT2 Lab aims to develop novel research strategies in hypermedia arts and literatures and to bear witness to the manifestations of a culture of the screen. Supported by the Canada Research Chair in Digital Arts and Literatures (ALN), the NT2 Lab hosted the 2018 International Conference of the Electronic Literature Organization. Other projects hosted by Labo NT2 are Encodage, a digital ecosystem of research and knowledge; the Litt\u00e9rature qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise mobile partnership, which develops strategies for the appropriation of digital literature in Quebec; and the Observatoire de l'imaginaire contemporain, a platform for the valorization of research.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t

Each COMPOSITE follows the same structure. A BLITZ MINUTE INSPIRATION introduces the evening: 10 digital actors each have one minute to share a project that has recently had an impact on them, inspired them, touched them... This is followed by 6 keynote presentations, each lasting 6 minutes, of projects previously selected by the COMPOSITE committee through a call for participants. They can be from the art, industry or social innovation sectors; the guiding thread is their common capacity to inspire, stimulate innovation and awaken in the spectators a desire for discovery and exploration. The event concludes with an evening of networking and discussion, allowing both presenters and participants to network and develop their respective projects.<\/span><\/p>\n
